Instructions:
- Prepare the Meat Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork and ground beef.
- Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, and milk. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, paprika, marjoram, and allspice. Mix again to incorporate the spices thoroughly.
- Form the Patties:
- With your hands, shape the meat mixture into oval patties, about 1 inch thick.
- Place the patties on a plate and set them aside.
- Cook the Klupskies:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
- If necessary, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
- Serve:
- Remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve these Polish hamburgers with mashed potatoes, a side of sauerkraut, or a fresh green salad. They pair wonderfully with a dollop of mustard or a side of pickles.
Notes:
- For a slightly different flavor, you can substitute the breadcrumbs with finely crushed crackers or even add a spoonful of mustard to the meat mixture.
- These patties can also be cooked on the grill for a smokier flavor.
